Kelsey and Tyler’s Sacred Oaks Camp Lucy wedding was so perfect! We are completely in love with the venue Sacred Oaks at Camp Lucy. It is one of the most beautiful new wedding venues in the Austin area! Both day and night, this venue is gorgeous. We love the giant trees, and all the pretty lights that hang from them at night time! The summer weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony under the lovely canopy of oak trees. Kelsey and Tyler met while working at a camp, so it was only right that they bring all of their family and friends for a weekend away in Austin for their big day! Their awesome bridal party had everyone cracking up the whole night. Those guys clearly have some good times together! We are so happy we got to meet them and their wonderful family and friends. Congratulations to this gorgeous couple!

Ashley & Michael were wed this June at Thurman’s Mansion in Driftwood, TX. It was the perfect spot for a ultra-Texan wedding! With almost everyone coming in from out of state, they chose this venue which is connected to the famous Salt Lick. These two met while working in San Antonio, so they decided to return to Texas to say “I do,” Of course, they had BBQ for dinner, and an awesome folk band (The Lost Pines) play during the cocktail hour! We love this rustically elegant venue for the view of the vineyard, the grand oak trees, the wide open lawn, and the big covered porch. We feel so lucky to have been part of their big day. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and handled our Texas heat like pros! 🙂 Congratulations to this sweet, fun-loving couple!

Rachel and Grant’s Moss Mountain Farm wedding this fall was so incredible! These two are so cool and really let their personalities out when designing their big day. It was like Game of Thrones and Reign got together and had a beautiful, epic wedding baby. Moss Mountain Farm is an awesome wedding venue just outside of Little Rock, Arkansas that is set on top of a hill with some beautiful views, castle-like structures, and a grumpy (but tolerant) swan. Rachel’s Berta bridal gown is phenomenal (#QUEEN) and we loved their red velvet bridesmaids dresses, too. It was chilly, so they built a huge bonfire for their guests which made for some awesome photos. Basically, I got to trip out and photograph fire for a couple hours. We love these guys and are so happy we got to meet them and their wonderful family and friends! Vista West Ranch was the perfect setting for Ashley & Kyle’s romantic wedding! Vista West Ranch is a rustic, chic venue in the hill country of Dripping Springs that is gorgeous all on it’s own, but throw in a super cute couple and you have a wonderful day on your hands! The groom’s grandfather officiated, which was so very sweet. These two are so beautiful, relaxed and fun, and we had a blast shooting their big day!

We had so much fun at Jaimie & Derek’s Sacred Oaks wedding this September! Jaimie has phenomenal taste and planned such a gorgeous day. Jaimie is so incredibly beautiful and sweet, and mix that with Derek’s goofiness and you have an awesome day on your hands! 🙂 We loved all of their glam pink decor and all the sparkley accents! Also, some mac and cheese was part of their menu and we are still dreaming of eating more of that!

We had so much fun at Julie and Damon’s Winfield Inn wedding! It was cloudy, raining and chilly, but definitely NOT dreary! These two were completely happy, in love and joyful the whole day. We loved getting to meet their awesome family and friends! The Winfield Inn is truly beautiful, rain or shine! Plus, they always have amazing food and a team (Meg and Laura) that can handle any sort of weather! Awesome florals by Bouquets of Austin and they had the amazing band Groove Knight come play!
Brittany and Greg are so great! We love their laid back, fun attitude and they are perfect together. They were married this fall in the bride’s father’s backyard, giving their wedding such a personal feel! Their big day was a blast, complete with succulents, glow sticks, and an awesome PhotoMoto photobooth in the back of a VW van! Stefani and Michael’s backyard Houston wedding was SO MUCH FUN. This day was so fun and relaxed. Nothing like gathering your nearest and dearest for a huge moment, and then partying like crazy! Their sweet pup Gunner was the ringbearer and almost stole the show. How cute is he? Also, these two are so freaking awesome. Even when the party got moved inside due to rain, they still had a blast! Love, love, love!
Val and Phil had such a fun wedding at Pecan Springs Ranch just outside of Austin, Texas! This extremely creative couple planned their big day with thoughts of good food, a touch of vintage carnival, and lots of fun in mind! Phil is an incredibly talented graphic designer who designed every bit of their wedding stationary – including the awesome fan with a map of Pecan Springs Ranch so their guests would know where to find all the great things they had planned for them! Val, Phil (and the amazing wedding coordinator Heather, from Vintage & Lace) planned out every little detail so perfectly! They had everything from a mariachi band, to giant jenga, an ice cream truck (a must for a summer wedding in Texas [even though it was remarkably in the 80’s all day]) to finally clown noses and mustaches for the dance party at the end of the night! This was a big reunion for their families and friends, with people traveling in from ALL OVER! We were so happy to meet everyone, and had such a wonderful time! Congratulations to this witty, goofy, very-much-in-love couple!

Sorayya & Shahram’s Four Seasons Austin Hotel wedding was drop dead gorgeous! They are the sweetest couple. We love their spontaneous, laid back attitude. It’s amazing that these two planned their whole wedding in about a month! Though it began a rainy day, the Austin weather pulled through and the rain cleared up right before the ceremony! We were able to take a few minutes to stroll around the hotel grounds for portraits, which sits right on Lady Bird Lake! They showed off their culture with a few awesome Persian details, and we’ve decided a big cup of honey should be present at every wedding. What a perfect way to start their marriage off sweet! 🙂 We are still dreaming of their beautiful sofreh! Huge congratulations to this beautiful and happy couple!

This Hummingbird House wedding in Austin was SO much fun! You may remember Evan and Katelyn’s Galveston carnival engagement session and video, and Katelyn’s Barr Mansion bridal portraits! After photographing these two a couple of times, we knew this day would be a blast! They are both such creative and vibrant people. We could not be happier for them! They made so many amazing details for their big day. If you love their projects you can find posts on how they DIY’d it all on their blog! We loved their giant LOVE marquee sign they made and the thumbprint canvas print Katelyn drew of their fluff cat Mochi.

These two were married in early January, then had a big family celebration in India, and finally with Marthine’s local family and friends in Bolinas! This town is so amazing and tiny. Emily and Mark’s wedding at the Heritage House Dripping Springs wedding was so much fun! These two are so sweet, and it was great seeing them, their families, and friends all so happy on their big day! Emily has such a gorgeous smile, and whenever she smiles Mark can’t help but smile right back at her – true love, y’all!! Also, we loved that Emily’s Dad used to play in their reception band! Oh my goodness, Kaitlin & Seth’s Oak Tree Manor wedding was amazing! Kaitlin is so creative, and made so many wonderful details for their big day! I just love how everything was pink, glittery, and had a fun, vintage vibe. To go along with that, Seth is probably one of the sweetest grooms ever! They just love each other so much, and that makes us so happy! We feel so lucky we got to share their day with them.

Amelia & Ben’s Chapel Dulcinea wedding was so much fun. You may remember them from their Rainey Street engagement session! These two could not be more laid back, so they had a lovely little gathering of family and close friends in the morning for their ceremony with an afternoon lunch and reception at Stonehouse Villa in Driftwood. Everyone enjoyed some bbq from the Salt Lick and then queso from Trudy’s, while chilling out strolling the yard. We are so in love with Amelia’s style and their awesome taste in music. Their first dance song was “For Annabelle” by Band of Horses (one of my favorite bands)! It’s definitely been getting some heavy playtime here at our house since their big day! So many congratulations to these two.

Heritage House Dripping Springs is so beautiful! It is one of my favorite wedding venues in the Austin area. Out in the hill country, Heritage House wedding venue sits on top of a gorgeous vista. Gorgeous views and Texas skies always make spectacular sunsets. Heritage House also has the most friendly and inviting team! Each piece of this place was put together with thought and care, from the bridal cottages to the vintage airstream and LOVE sign in the back! The venue owners built the property originally just for their family to enjoy, which I’m sure contributes to the laid back, welcoming feel!
Ashley & Brian are so great. We genuinely adore them as people. I’m obsessed with Ashley’s style! She had her dress custom made, with the sleeves made from the same lace as the veil. I loved her giant glitter heart, and all of the pink and gold details in the reception space! Most special, though, were the tiny crabs she bought as a surprise to Brian. It helps signify her home state of Louisiana, and just went with the general theme of awesomeness, laid-back-ed-ness, and amazing food! Plus, they included their pups in the wedding. Nothing is sweeter than that!

Jessica & Chad’s Inn at Wild Rose Hall wedding was SO much fun!! These two are just big goofballs! They wrote their own vows, had bright, lovely colors and Chad even knows all the words to Ice Ice Baby! Plus, they had all sorts of freshly made pizzas for dinner AND tiny pies for dessert. It was a lovely day to be a wedding photographer! 🙂 When they both referenced “Boy Meets World” in their vows, we knew it was meant to be. Really, there couldn’t be two people more perfect for each other and we are so happy for them!

Kris and Karol’s The Parador wedding in Houston, TX was so gorgeous! This day, we arrived to Karol’s getting ready location in a torrential downpour. There were tornado warnings all day long, with an 80% chance of rain! Miraculously, as soon as we all arrived at the venue the clouds parted. We were so lucky we got to take portraits in the gorgeous garden at The Parador! The best part of rain is that it leaves greens greener! These two are adorable. We feel so lucky we got to photograph their big day, and meet all their wonderful friends and family!

Sarah & Zach’s wedding at the Julia Ideson Library in Houston, TX was super rad! Any time you research a venue and find ghost stories about it, you know it’s going to be a good day. These two are just cool and great to be around. Sarah is uber creative and had so many awesome, little touches that fit perfectly with the classic architecture, statues and books in the library. Also, they brought in Tiff’s Treats AND Niko Niko’s (awesome cookies and greek food)! The chubozor inside me was very, very happy this evening.

We had such a wonderful time photographing Asmaa & Aamir’s Houston Hilton wedding reception! They had their ceremony a couple of months earlier, and had this big celebration just before Christmas! We arrived just in time to take a few quick, lovely portraits that afternoon in front of the Hilton Hotel in Houston before the party started! They and their families are all such gorgeous people and we feel so lucky to have met them!

This Mercury Hall wedding was such a special day! Daley and Gerrit are so sweet, and so goofy at the same time. They’re completely perfect for each other, and you may remember them from their Galveston engagement session with their pup Wiley. Daley’s amazing mother helped craft the gorgeous shoulder for her wedding gown, and her blue suede shoes are to die for. This was shockingly one of the chilliest days we’ve had in Austin in forever, but they were all troopers and we still got to shoot some portraits out in the gorgeous trees at Mercury Hall!
We loved the whole crew this day. Daley’s sister, Lacey (and her husband Aaron), was one of the first people to put their trust in me for their wedding after I started my business and I will forever be grateful! Also, we got to shoot one of her bridesmaid’s engagement sessions earlier this year, too (shoutout to Stephanie and Sam!!)!

Lauren & Wes had the most laid back, awesome Three Points Ranch wedding! Wes brewed his own beer for the big day, so Lauren made the boutonnieres out of bottle caps! Plus, there were lots of toasts, laughing & dancing. Aside from all the amazing vintage airstreams at this venue, they also have a beautiful, huge old tree that Lauren & Wes used for their ceremony location! They are such kind and loving people – it was truly a pleasure shooting their day!

With the holidays coming up, we were thinking about all the things we are thankful for, and became overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the lovely people who support us and allow us to do what we love most for a living! We KNOW how lucky we are to live the life we do, and are SO, very, very grateful! We’ve been so incredibly blessed in this venture, and are so happy to have our 2014 almost completely booked already! We have loved every single one of our clients and all the places they’ve taken us, and just can’t believe how much we’ve lucked out!

This Gabriel Springs wedding in Georgetown, TX was so beautiful! Nancy and Lucas are so bubbly and in love! We love her silly sense of humor, and we love how totally gaga Lucas is for Nancy. Gabriel Springs, with it’s wooden interior was a perfect fit for this country lovin’ couple! We loved how they both wore boots the whole day! What a blast!

Nancy & Lucas chose to do a First Look! We love when couples do a First Look, because it allows for a more intimate setting when the groom sees his bride for the first time. It also gave us from more free time for portraits, and a bit of time for them to exchange letters and gifts before the ceremony!
Savannah & Branden’s Olde Dobbin Station wedding was so absolutely gorgeous! They are so artistic, and DIY’d most every bit of their day, which made it all feel super sentimental and personal. Branden’s grandma even made Savannah’s amazing blush gown herself! I’m pretty in love with the back lace detail. One thing I absolutely LOVED about this day was the fact that they didn’t get married at the usual pond spot that a lot of couples use at Olde Dobbin Station, they held their ceremony in the cool old derelict barn next door! Super rad.

This Royalty Pecan Farms wedding in Caldwell, TX is just gorgeous! And the perfect setting for these two Aggies to tie the knot! Tori and Micah have been together FOREVER and are absolutely the sweetest couple (not to mention the both of them being total babes)! They planned out every detail just perfectly, including the ceremony start time for it all to end just before sunset! You’ve probably heard photographers obsessing about the “golden hour” – well these pinky skies are just one of the reasons why!

Weddings are magical all day long! Of course we love natural light and the beauty of the sun, but sometimes (when we have enough time) we love to get creative and take night portraits, as well. This isn’t something we always get to do, because setting up a night time portrait takes a bit longer, and we have to have our couples stay still for a long exposure. Sometimes, though, everything works perfectly and we get to make some perfectly magical art. There is nothing quite like the romance of a bright, starry sky, or warm twinkle lights strung up in a tree. Here are a few of our favorite wedding portraits taken at night time!
