zz Skylar & Cyrus: A Modern Wedding with Bold Color

In the era of Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok, there is a never-ending stream of wedding inspiration for engaged couples to sift through. There are literally thousands upon thousands of wedding ideas out there, from a modern wedding design to a boho, rustic, or classic one. Although all of these styles are extraordinarily beautiful, we’ve seen how the infinite possibilities can lead to decision fatigue and make wedding planning harder. That’s why we encourage you to lean into your own personal style, even if it breaks the mold. We here at The Bird & The Bear have been an Austin wedding photography and videography team for years, and we love seeing our couples’ unique styles and tastes, especially when they think outside the box! So let us be the first to embolden you and give you the reassurance you may need to do things your way at your wedding, even if it differs from the weddings you see on social media.

One of our beautiful couples, Skylar and Cyrus, achieved this with their modern wedding. They leaned into their personal affinity for bold colors and contemporary flair, mixing it up with their attire, timeline, and even their wedding date! We found through working with them that these fun details definitely align with their lighthearted and excitable personalities. The joy they felt throughout their modern wedding lit them up from within, making for radiant photos that are as vibrant as they are.

After viewing their modern wedding film and gallery in this post, we hope you’ll be inspired to also design a wedding that feels true to who you are. No matter what your personal wedding style is, we’re here to support you and capture every beautiful moment.

Austin Wedding Details

Skylar and Cyrus’ modern wedding took place at Austin’s South Congress Hotel, a boutique hotel set in the heart of downtown. We started the day shooting the laidback fun that Skylar and her attendants had while getting ready. As LUX Beauty & Bridal did Skylar’s hair and makeup, we captured detail shots of the couple’s aqua and blush invitation suite, surrounded by effervescent floral in fuchsia, tangerine, orchid, and peach. These details set the stage for this modern wedding day, as these hues were woven throughout their wedding design.

During this time, we also photographed Skylar in her sleek, cowl-necked wedding gown. Clean and crisp, her gown had spaghetti straps and buttons all down the back with the satin fabric pooling at her heels.

When her bridal look was complete, we did a first look with Skylar and her dad. In this special moment, Skylar’s dad greeted her with a smile and open arms. After a moment, his eyes pricked with tears, emotion breaking through.

Pre-Ceremony Happy Hour

When Skylar and Cyrus’ guests arrived to their modern wedding, a pre-ceremony happy hour began at the lobby bar. This was everyone’s first sign that Skylar and Cyrus were doing things differently for their big day! Friends and family got the chance to mix and mingle while enjoying light bites and drinks, provided by the hotel’s catering team. The happy couple themselves even joined in on the fun!

This didn’t mean that Skylar showed off her bridal look just yet though! For these welcome drinks, Skylar changed into a strapless white cocktail dress that had cascading tiers of ruffles. It exuded bridal vibes, but also a feeling of fun and carefreeness, which made it perfect for this happy hour.

Modern Wedding Ceremony at South Congress Hotel

Guests then transitioned into the hotel’s Event Space for Skylar and Cyrus’ modern wedding ceremony. There, they found a white, stone fireplace mantel from Loot Rentals set against a white brick wall. Bricolage Curated Florals set a lush floral arrangement on top of the mantel, bursting with fuchsia, magenta, orange, and blush blooms interspersed with wild natural greenery. A smaller version of this arrangement lay inside the mantel. Soft candlelight lit up this entire display, as the floral team scattered various hurricane candles across the altar, some on top of the mantel and some on wooden crates on the ground. They finished off the ceremony design with a bright red, tribal rug.

The emotions that shone through during this modern wedding ceremony were as raw and pure as it gets. Skylar was already tearing up as her father walked her down the aisle with heavenly harp music by Austin’s Harpist filling the air. It was also plain to see that Cyrus couldn’t believe his luck that he got to marry the love of his life. One of their good friends officiated the ceremony and had the privilege of pronouncing Skylar and Cyrus as husband and wife on that gorgeous, colorful day.

An Outdoor, Modern Wedding Reception

When the ceremony concluded, Skylar and Cyrus’ wedding planners, Heavenly Day Events, facilitated the chair flip. This meant that their team moved all the chairs from the ceremony to reuse them in the reception space. They also repurposed the ceremony candles and floral while guests snapped pictures at the Polaroid station and simply enjoyed each other’s company. The Heavenly Day team managed the chair flip feat in no time and that’s when they invited guests to sit down to dinner.

Held in the hotel’s outdoor Courtyard, this modern wedding reception featured long king’s tables, set with white linens and dusty blue gauze table runners. Bud vases with colorful floral stems lined the center of each table and acrylic painted table numbers showed guests where to sit. This couple also arranged a kids’ table with seagrass cushions and fun activities and games.

Skylar and Cyrus’ sweetheart table overlooked it all! It was a black pedestal table with a stormy blue runner and larger than life flowers in various shades of pink and orange. Two gold-lined accent chairs sat behind the table and a patterned rug lay at its feet.

A blue neon sign bearing the newlyweds’ initials greeted everyone upon arrival and a corresponding neon sign displayed their wedding hashtag, “#KeepSkyrusWeird.” After a wonderful dinner by the hotel, their team brought out a surprise dessert for Cyrus because it was not only his wedding day, but also his birthday! Everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to him as he blew out his candles, making this day that much more special.

Dart Collective then started the party back in the main Event Space, where Altared Weddings strung Edison bulb light strands across the ceiling. White paper lanterns also hung down over everyone’s heads, creating a dreamy atmosphere, accentuated by the bold pink uplights around the room. It was here that Skylar and Cyrus shared their first dance to “Time In A Bottle” by Jim Croce and where Skylar did a bouquet toss with a special bouquet made of lettuce leaves, another example of this bride’s creativity!

Skylar, Cyrus, and all their friends and family members made amazing memories on this modern wedding day, and we feel grateful and honored to have been a part of all the fun!

Cheers and congratulations to you, Skylar and Cyrus! Thank you for inviting us to be your Austin wedding photographer and videographer for your incredible modern wedding. It was our pleasure to get to know you and partake in all the fun! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and good fortune!

zz Nikki & Sam: A Multicultural Wedding at Highpointe Estate by an Indian Wedding Photographer

Since we are an Indian wedding photographer and videographer and have a soft spot for weddings, we understand that a wedding is just the first chapter in your adventure book. We know that a wedding doesn’t symbolize a destination, but rather, a mile marker, denoting the start of the next leg of your journey together as a couple. The beginning of your marriage is certainly worthy of all the pomp and circumstance you dream of because your nuptials symbolize the union of two people and two families. In some cases, a new marriage also represents the blending of two cultures, like it did for Nikki and Sam’s multicultural wedding at Highpointe Estate.

Their two-day Southeast Asian wedding linked Nikki and Sam in matrimony, but it also blended Nikki’s Indian heritage with Sam’s Western culture. The result was an awe-inspiring, multicultural wedding celebration filled with traditions both old and new. The love Nikki and Sam have for each other and their family, was evident from the haldi to the sangeet to the wedding day itself. Together with their seasoned Indian wedding planner, Cheryl with Glitzzy Events, they ensured that their guests were well taken care of and that they also had a blast!

In this post, you’ll step into the shoes of one of Nikki and Sam’s guests, as you discover the beauty and joy of their multicultural wedding at Highpointe Estate. You’ll smile at their delightful wedding color palette, marvel at the grandeur of their ceremony mandap, and dance alongside them from the baraat all the way until the end of their epic reception.

Without further ado, we present Nikki and Sam’s multicultural wedding!

The Haldi & Pelikutru (Pre-Wedding Tradition)

The day before Nikki and Sam’s multicultural wedding at Highpointe Estate, they held their haldi and pelikutru! These are very auspicious Indian wedding traditions that involve the bride and groom’s family members smearing turmeric on their faces. Its bright yellow hue symbolizes the cleansing and purification of the mind, body, and soul before the wedding.

Nikki and Sam’s haldi and pelikutru took place at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel . Sam donned a lovely shade of buttercup while Nikki was draped in tangerine and goldenrod for the occasion. During this ceremony, their closest family members and friends prayed over them and daubed their faces and feet with the haldi turmeric mixture. The backdrop for this ritual consisted of yellow and white fabric draping and hanging floral garlands. The combination of bright yellows and oranges was sunny enough to make anyone smile and complemented the haldi perfectly.

Everyone’s joy in this ceremony was infectious! Loved ones, young and old, got to partake in the fun, creating an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm. This energy came across in a beautifully authentic way in the final photos! Here at The Bird & The Bear , capturing every aspect of the day while blending into the background is our specialty. While we step forward to assist and guide you as needed, we never interfere with the special moments with your closest people.

The Sangeet (Music Night)

Later that night, Nikki and Sam held their sangeet, which is a high-energy night of traditional dances, upbeat music, and unadulterated fun! This sweet couple both wore peach attire with gold accents and this was the first time that Nikki really got to showcase her henna! As is tradition for Indian weddings, Nikki and her closest female family members and friends got henna done on their hands and arms in the most gorgeous and intricate patterns imaginable the night before. Henna by Neeti’s design work was simply stunning and we love how the henna truly popped in photos and on film!

The sangeet took place in one of the Sheraton’s ballrooms. Yara with Unique Design & Events completely transformed the space with an exquisite backdrop of orange, turquoise, and gold fabric draping. She then set an ivory couch with orange throw pillows and gold lanterns in varying heights in front of the backdrop, setting the perfect stage for Nikki and Sam to take the spotlight.

When the sangeet began, the caterer Biryani Pot served guests a delicious dinner of traditional Indian fare. Nikki and Sam themselves then kickstarted the party with a performance of their own to open the dance floor. Their amazing rhythm and choreography were second to none! It was particularly striking to see Nikki’s orange and peach dress twirl against their backdrop. It showed that they truly planned every last detail, from the hues of the backdrop to the same shades in Nikki and Sam’s attire.

The nearlyweds’ family and friends then took turns performing for them. As an experienced Indian wedding photographer and videographer, we have worked many sangeets and they always make us feel like we have the best jobs in the world! They are incredibly lighthearted, energetic, and entertaining, and that kind of vibe is contagious! We have just as good a time at sangeets as the guests do, and we like to think that shows in the way we photograph and video the event!

Setting the Stage at Highpointe Estate

Then, on a beautiful, sunny day at Highpointe Estate, it was Nikki and Sam’s wedding day! When our Indian wedding photography and videography team arrived that morning, we started capturing detail shots, including Nikki’s magnificent lavender and gold wedding sari, the ganesh, and of course, the mandap.

Monarch Event Rentals brought this couple’s wedding ceremony dreams to life by setting a glossy white stage with a golden, open-frame arch. They fastened the most beautiful, fluffy floral to the arch, so that the bright pink and orange blooms added an instant dose of happiness to the overall aesthetic. Their team also hung small, delicate florals as a backdrop, cascading down from the back of the arch. To complete the look, intricate gold ceremony chairs were set atop the stage, ready for Nikki, Sam, and the proceedings of the day.

Before the ceremony began, Nikki and Sam did a first look. As a more modern wedding event, a first look is not only a fun and private way to see one another for the first time that day, but it also greatly helps with logistics. Doing a first look allows us to get portraits done before the ceremony, so that you can spend more quality time with your loved ones post-ceremony. As a bonus, a first look is always so romantic! We’ve seen both brides and grooms tear up, read private vows, exchange gifts, share sweet nothings, and just generally revel in the emotional anticipation of their marriage. This certainly was the case for Nikki and Sam, as they wore the brightest smiles and shared the biggest hug when Sam turned around that morning.

Wedding day bliss was all over their faces and it was our pleasure getting to capture this authentic moment for this special couple.

The Baraat (Groom’s Entrance)

One of our favorite parts of being an Indian wedding photographer is getting to be part of the baraat! If you thought the sangeet was a fun dance party, just wait until you see Sam’s baraat, or his entrance to the wedding ceremony. A dhol player and Nachle DJ Entertainment made sure to crank up the Nadaswaram music for this extravaganza, filled with lively dancing, marching, and cheering. Sam’s friends hoisted him up on their shoulders, and colorful smoke bombs blew through the air as the parade made their way through the parking lot and up to the chapel’s entrance.

When they arrived, Nikki’s parents greeted Sam and formally welcomed him into their family. This signified that the wedding ceremony could officially commence!

A Multicultural Wedding Ceremony at Highpointe Estate

Every wedding ceremony is beautiful and special, but there is something especially sacred about a Southeast Asian wedding. The traditions within the ceremony are typically different from couple to couple, depending on which part of India they’re from. Nikki and Sam’s ceremony included a sanctified series of rituals, from the Kanyadaanam (giving away of the bride by her parents) to the Mangalya Dharanam (tying of the sacred thread and exchange of garlands) to the Talambralu (showering of rice). It was touching to see their family involved in the ceremony as well. Towards the end of the ceremony, Nikki and Sam accepted blessings from their parents and grandparents before the priest declared them husband and wife!

A Multicultural Wedding Reception at Highpointe Estate

After lunch served by Biryani Pot, Nikki had her hair and makeup touched up by Tansia Beauty & Bridal, and then she and her new husband both changed into their reception attire. For Nikki, that meant an ivory sari with aqua accents and for Sam, that meant a Western, navy blue suit. Before the evening reception began, we took sunset portraits around Highpointe Estate, and the light could not have been dreamier! It worked perfectly to enhance the beauty of the property and the newlyweds.

The night began with the guests arriving via chartered buses from Austin Charter Services for the cocktail hour, where Biryani Pot fried fresh appetizers onsite for everyone. Then, all the guests were invited into Highpointe Estate’s Gathering Room for the wedding reception. There, they found the dinner tables dressed in blush linens, turquoise napkins, gold chargers, and pink and orange floral centerpieces. Chandeliers and white fabric draping hung from the ceiling’s wooden beams, and pink uplights set the room aglow. Next to the sweetheart table stood the newlyweds’ 3-tiered wedding cake, complete with fresh pastel florals and a mini replica of their cat!

The reception kicked off with the introduction of the new Mr. and Mrs. and their closest family members. They shared their first dance together as well as with each of their parents. Speeches from both sets of parents, Sam’s best friends, and the newlyweds themselves were given before the dinner buffet opened. As Cheryl with Glitzzy Events and Nachle DJ Entertainment released each table, the guests would take pictures with Nikki and Sam, ensuring that they got to say hello to everyone.

The rest of the night was marked by open dancing and general merriment! Everyone enjoyed getting to let loose and celebrate, making the most of their time together. At the end of the night, everyone lined up outside with sparklers and Nikki and Sam made their grand exit by walking through the lights and their loved ones. It was so special to see them lock eyes with their people and each other, as they shared one last amazing moment together before their wedding came to a beautiful and perfect end.

Congratulations Nikki and Sam! We’re so glad to know you both and were honored to be your Indian wedding photographer and videographer. Thank you for entrusting us to capture the magic of your wedding weekend! Cheers to a lifetime of happiness!

zz Kelly & Connor: A Timeless, Dusty Blue Wedding at Villa Antonia

Here at The Bird & The Bear, we strive to strike the perfect balance between photographing the highlights of your wedding while also capturing every authentic emotion and special, candid moment in between. We have been a top Austin wedding photographer and videographer for years and we know that your wedding isn’t one long photo shoot. It’s an unabashed and unfiltered celebration of your love and the journey you took to get to the altar. That’s why we always aim to make the day revolve around you and your loved ones, not around the photos and video. We’re simply there to document all the love and beauty of the day!

This is exactly what we did for the beautiful, dusty blue wedding of Kelly and Connor at Villa Antonia. We had the great pleasure of photographing this special couple, from their engagement session all the way until they said “I do.” We view our couples as our friends, and with Kelly and Connor’s easygoing, upbeat personalities, it wasn’t hard to do!

We’re thrilled to share our favorite moments and images of their love story with you! In this post, you’ll discover the wonder of Villa Antonia, the timeless design details you can incorporate into your own wedding, and the beauty of Kelly and Connor’s love, forever captured in their wedding film and photos.

Special Moments Before the Wedding

We had a blast getting to know Kelly and Connor in the months leading up to the wedding and it only made us more excited for their dusty blue wedding day! When the big day finally arrived, the air was filled with tangible anticipation. We kicked off the day by capturing getting ready shots with Kelly and her 10 bridesmaids, all dressed in matching pajamas with feather trim. We then captured shots of Kelly and Connor’s gorgeous dusty blue wedding details, including their custom invitation suite and ring box.

On this dusty blue wedding day, Kelly’s mom helped her slip into a strapless white gown with a trumpet-style skirt. It was clean, sleek, and effortlessly elegant, just like her! We know that many mothers dream of helping their daughters get ready for their wedding, so we always intentionally build this moment into the photo and film timeline.

After Kelly was all dolled up, we did a first look with her bridesmaids. This is definitely one photo trend that we can get behind because it’s a chance to have a special moment with your closest friends. Plus, it never fails to produce the best authentic reactions!

Kelly also held a first look with her dad. Clutching her white bridal bouquet provided by Embellished Event Floral, she smiled brightly as her dad turned around and saw his little girl as a bride for the first time. It’s safe to say we were all holding back tears!

Getting Married at Villa Antonia

Kelly and Connor’s dusty blue wedding ceremony took place on Villa Antonia’s grand outdoor terrace. It overlooks the entire hill country, creating a breathtaking backdrop. Blue and white floral arrangements in gold fluted vases lined the aisle and similar arrangements topped two ivory stone pillars that framed the altar.

While the ceremony site couldn’t have been more beautiful, Connor only had eyes for Kelly when she walked down the aisle. Escorted by her dad, she was a vision with her cascading blonde waves and the colorful floral scarf wrapped around the stems of her bouquet. Including sentimental details, like Kelly’s scarf, in your wedding is a wonderful way to hold the loved ones who couldn’t be there close.

Kelly and Connor became husband and wife under the vast Texas sky that evening. When officiant Scott Davis pronounced them officially married, cheers pierced the air. They did it!

Wedding Photos at Villa Antonia

At the outdoor cocktail hour, the team at Drink Slingers served guests the newlyweds’ custom cocktails: spicy margaritas and ranch water. During this time, we shot family combinations, wedding party pictures, and newlywed portraits. We love making the most of all the natural scenery Villa Antonia has to offer, so we captured photos at the ceremony site with the hills in the background and on nearby stone terraces with the Italian architecture as a backdrop, among many others.

A Dusty Blue Wedding Reception

Kelly and Connor’s dusty blue wedding reception actually started before heading into the main reception space. It began with their first dance in the adjacent outdoor courtyard under the soft glow from the twinkle lights strung overhead. Surrounded by the Mediterranean-style architecture and the smiling faces of their friends and family, the new Mr. and Mrs. swayed in each other’s arms, drinking in the moment.

The father/daughter and mother/son dances followed suit and then, it was time to start the party! Kelly and Connor’s wedding planner and coordinator, Norma with Embellished Event Planning, ushered everyone into this dusty blue wedding reception space. There, they found guest tables dressed in white linens, soft aqua napkins, and blue and white floral centerpieces. A natural greenery garland ran down the center of the 35 person head table, interspersed with floating candles and floral arrangements perched atop open, gold frames. Kelly and Connor’s half-moon sweetheart table overlooked it all with blue and white floral, aglow with candlelight.

Courtney’s Catering served a delicious buffet dinner that was perfectly complemented by Whisk & Twirl’s wedding cake for dessert. Kelly and Connor chose a 4-tier blue and white cake, accented by fresh floral buds.

Afterwards, Texas Capital DJ got everyone on the dance floor for one epic party! Everyone donned sparkly cowboy hats and waved glow sticks in the air, dancing and jumping to express their excitement of the day.

When the festivities reluctantly wound down, the newlyweds shared one last private dance before taking the final walk at their wedding through their loved ones holding sparklers. After sharing one last dip kiss, they hopped into their getaway car provided by MS Luxury VIP Transportation and drove into the next chapter of their lives together.

Congratulations Kelly and Connor! Your dusty blue wedding at Villa Antonia was downright gorgeous, but nothing was more beautiful than witnessing your love for one another. We enjoyed getting to know you both immensely and wish you all the love and joy in the world!

tt Jordan & Garrett: A Garden-Inspired Spring Wedding at The Arlo

As a top Austin wedding photography and videography team, we have found that the most emotional and meaningful weddings are the ones that master the art of storytelling. A wedding isn’t just a pretty party or a milestone to check off a list. It’s a beautiful depiction of your love story and a chance to celebrate every part of it. When every detail of the wedding reflects your journey and personalities, it not only creates visual appeal for your guests, but it makes the day truly and uniquely yours.

Jordan and Garrett’s spring wedding at The Arlo perfectly exemplifies this, as they infused significant personal details throughout their big day. From their music choices to their garden-inspired color palette to the way they included their family throughout the day, every element reflected Jordan and Garrett’s personal tastes and shared values. The result was a bright and joyous spring wedding day, where everyone – including us! – couldn’t help but smile from start to finish.

This spring wedding at The Arlo serves as major inspiration for a botanical garden wedding or a hill country wedding! It also illustrates unique and creative ways to put your personal stamp on your wedding to show your guests that you’ve truly thought of everything.

We invite you to relive Jordan and Garrett’s spring wedding with us in the hope that you leave more inspired than before!

Spring Wedding Design Details

What’s a spring wedding without an abundance of florals? Jordan and Garrett wanted to create a lush, garden feel for their wedding at The Arlo, so they worked with their wedding planner, Uptown Events, and wedding florist, Wild Bunches Floral, to plan a multitude of vibrant, organic florals. Their color palette consisted of magenta, blush, peach, ivory, and pops of orange.

Their ceremony took place inside The Arlo’s Storie Hall, where gold, geometric frames stood at the altar, accented by blooming floral sprays. Two twin pillars with colorful floral arrangements framed the top of the aisle and ivory rose petals lined either side of it. As an Austin wedding photographer and videographer, of course we love natural light and Storie Hall allows for plenty of it! The altar features a picture window with similar windows surrounding the entire room. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Jordan and Garrett held their reception in The Arlo’s main ballroom, where both round and rectangular tables draped in ivory linens awaited guests. Every table featured pink and ivory floral arrangements interspersed with floating candles. A gold fluted charger sat at each place setting with a dusty blue taffeta napkin tucked underneath it.

The newlyweds’ sweetheart table stole the show though! Uptown Events and Wild Bunches repurposed the ceremony floral to decorate this focal table, creating a picture-perfect spot for the new Mr. and Mrs.

Getting Ready to Say “I Do”

On the morning of their spring wedding, Jordan and Garrett enjoyed time with their wedding party respectively in The Arlo’s bride and groom suites. Mistique Makeup helped get the ladies all dolled up before slipping into their gowns and when it was time, Jordan donned a white Allure wedding gown with crystal beading cascading down from the bodice. It had beaded spaghetti straps that criss-crossed in the back and a long, flowing train that twirled oh-so-perfectly throughout the day!

Garrett looked just as good in his navy blue suit and white tie, which he accented with his Texas Tech pin and class ring. When they were both ready, they started the day’s festivities with a first touch and vow exchange. We love that they stayed true to who they are by keeping this moment private and sacred. As they stood back-to-back reading their vows to each other, they both shed some tears and shared bright, excited smiles.

After some bridal portraits on The Arlo’s manicured lawn, Jordan did a first look with her dad and then her Grannie. We may have shed some tears of our own during Jordan’s moment with her grandmother! We wish we could bottle the unbridled and authentic joy that radiated from them in this moment. Family is so important to Jordan and Garrett, and holding these first looks was a truly special way to show them how much they care for them.

A Spring Wedding Ceremony at The Arlo

At last, the time came for Jordan and Garrett to tie the knot! When the first notes of “Here Comes the Sun” floated through the air in Storie Hall, the processional began. Both Jordan and Garrett’s grandparents and parents walked down the aisle followed by the 16 members of their wedding party. The 7 bridesmaids and bridesman each wore a different shade of blue, which beautifully complemented the 7 groomsmens’ and groomslady’s navy blue attire.

When Jordan entered the ceremony on her father’s arm, her smile lit up the entire room and was only matched by Garrett’s equally brilliant smile. You could tangibly feel the love and happiness in the room!

After a heartfelt and emotional ceremony, Pastor Tim Anderson declared them husband and wife! Jordan kissed her new husband for the first time and then they both threw their hands in the air: They did it!

Cocktail Hour at The Arlo

The Arlo’s back lawn is ideal for a spring wedding cocktail hour! There, highboys dressed in pink linens stood in front of The Arlo’s outdoor fireplace and the welcome table featured gold-framed photos of Jordan and Garrett as well as a very unique guest book alternative. In addition to a sign-in guest book, the newlyweds displayed a custom Houston Astros jersey with their last name on the back! They invited their loved ones to sign their jersey in a creative tribute to this couple’s love of baseball. Little Astros pins even scattered the table!

During this spring wedding cocktail hour, PEJ Events served brisket barbacoa tostadas and tequila lime shrimp shooters while guests sipped on specialty cocktails named after Jordan and Garrett’s two dogs. “The Daisy” consisted of vodka with grapefruit and lime flavor notes while “The Raider” featured whiskey and lime. Jordan and Garrett even had custom cocktail napkins that read “all because two people swiped right” in gold, sparkling letters in an elegant tribute to how the two met.

After capturing family formals and couple portraits post-ceremony, Jordan and Garrett enjoyed a private moment in the bridal suite, where they indulged in their appetizers together and soaked in the fact that they were married. We highly recommend building private moments into the timeline like this! With all the festivities of the wedding day, taking time to slow down and celebrate with each other is never something our couples regret.

A Spring Wedding Reception at The Arlo

Then it was time to start the party! Jordan and Garrett’s DJ from Premier Entertainment invited everyone into the reception and the team at Uptown Events helped guests find their seats with the newlyweds’ iconic black seating chart.

After grand entrances, Garrett’s stepdad led a blessing over the newlyweds before the dinner buffet opened. At this point, Jordan and Garret snuck off with us to take sunset photos. Golden hour at The Arlo is pure magic and every Austin wedding photographer’s dream! The dewy golden light made for some of our favorite photos from the entire day! Not to mention that this was another chance for the bride and groom to spend some time alone together.

After a few twirls, lifts, and many kisses, we took the couple back into their spring wedding reception to continue the celebration with their loved ones. Garrett’s best man and Jordan’s best friend each gave a toast, provoking genuine smiles and laughter. Afterwards, the newlyweds themselves gave a thank you speech before kicking off the grand march!

If you haven’t heard of a grand march, it is one of the most fun ways to open the dance floor! All guests are invited to walk, dance, and march around the room in lines, holding each other’s hands and even forming a soul train line! It was a fun, surefire way to get all 178 guests up and onto the dance floor.

They surrounded Jordan and Garrett as they shared their first dance to “Your Everything” by Keith Urban. The parent dances followed this. Jordan’s father/daughter dance was set to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland and Garrett’s mother/son dance was set to “Thought You Should Know” by Morgan Wallen.

Throughout the rest of the night, guests snapped fun pictures at the hedge wall photo booth that Simply Selfies set up. A custom neon sign with the newlyweds’ last name adorned the backdrop. They also indulged in many a sweet treat from the dessert table! Jordan and Garrett aren’t cake people, so they treated their loved ones to mini fruit tarts, cookies, rice krispy treats, and chocolate parfaits.

As their custom sign accurately read, “All you need is love and dessert!”

The Perfect Ending to a Wedding at The Arlo

As this spring wedding drew to a close, 4 Leaf Limo delivered a black, vintage getaway car to The Arlo’s front drive. After sharing a private last dance to “Sure Thing” by Miguel, Jordan and Garrett made their grand exit by walking through their loved ones one last time. Everyone held sparklers to light up the night and the new Mr. and Mrs. shared one final kiss before heading off into their happily ever after.

Congratulations, Jordan and Garrett! We were honored to capture all the joy and fun of your spring wedding at The Arlo and we wish you a lifetime of love together! Cheers to you both!

gg Gita & Soham: A Multiday, Southeast Asian Mae’s Ridge Wedding

We believe that the design and vibe of a wedding is undeniably reflective of the couple’s personalities and dynamic, so it’s no wonder that Gita and Soham’s multiday Mae’s Ridge wedding was high energy, joyous, and a true party! These two are nothing but fun, naturals in front of the camera, and have the most infectious smiles. Even though we were working the celebration as their Austin Indian wedding photographer and videographer, we felt like we were taking part in all the fun right alongside everyone!

We had the honor of forming a great relationship with Gita and Soham from the start when we shot their engagement photos. When they told us they wanted to capture their funny, goofy, authentic selves in the heart of downtown Austin, we knew this was the right couple for us. Not every couple would want to order pizza or shoot with a cupcake truck in the background as part of their engagement shoot, but Gita and Soham were nothing but themselves from the very beginning. They carried this spirit of authenticity throughout their entire wedding celebration from that point forward, from the mehndi to sangeet to ceremony to reception.

That’s what sets this Mae’s Ridge wedding apart for us. It wasn’t just the vibrant florals, amazing outfits or even the cool cars, but the personal details weaved throughout that made this multiday, Indian wedding truly one for the books.

Mehndi (Henna Party)

As an Austin Indian wedding photographer, we’ve seen a lot of incredible henna work, but we don’t always get to photograph the intricacies of the mehndi. We were thrilled when Gita asked us to capture hers and we were completely fascinated to watch Henna Arts work, as they applied the delicate and exquisite henna on Gita and her guests’ hands and feet.

For those unfamiliar with a mehndi, it is a henna party that takes place before the wedding festivities begin. It is usually a casual affair held at the bride or a family member’s house, and the bride and all the women closest to her come to get their henna done. The groom doesn’t typically participate in the mehndi, but Soham briefly did by getting Gita’s name inside a heart drawn on the back of one of his hands. A very sweet and special touch!

Sangeet

The next day, Gita and Soham officially kicked off their wedding weekend with a sangeet. It was everything a sangeet should be and more with upbeat music, good food, and extraordinary dance performances by Gita and Soham’s friends and family.

We started the evening by getting great couple’s portraits around property. Gita and Soham wore royal blue outfits with metallic accents that reminded us of stars in the night sky. These colors contrasted nicely with the vivid colors they used in their event design. They hung green and yellow pompom strands over the dance floor, creating a sort of canopy, and some of the desserts they served were equally as bright, but no less delicious!

The dancing that night did not disappoint! Hands were in the air, skirts swished from left to right, and cheers and laughter echoed throughout the space. Gita and Soham had front row seats for the performances in the form of a hanging bench with turquoise pillows and a white, billowy canopy cover. We loved watching their faces light up with every dance number, as they watched their closest people dance for them to celebrate their new marriage.

Before the night was out, they also enjoyed some incredible food, including fried chicken sliders, mango lassi cheesecake, and even hand scooped ice cream. Between the food and the dancing, it was a perfect night, made only more perfect by the fact that Gita and Soham were getting married the next morning!

A Mae’s Ridge Wedding: Pre-Ceremony

Mae’s Ridge is a modern, farmhouse-style event venue in the hill country of Austin, Texas. They offer a few different ceremony sites and while Gita and Soham chose to have their ceremony at the Pavilion, we definitely took advantage of the rest of the sites by getting photos all around property.

Every Austin Indian wedding photographer knows that an Indian wedding day starts with a baraat (groom’s processional into the ceremony). Not only did Soham have a dhol player and mobile DJ provided by Desi Junction DJs for his, but he also rode in a cherry red convertible, which was decked out in sunny yellow garlands. Soham was the essence of cool in his sunglasses and hot rod, and he certainly had a good time dancing and partying up the path with his family and friends. He knew it was his moment and he completely rocked it!

A Mae’s Ridge Wedding: The Ceremony

Cheryl with Glitzzy Events was Gita and Soham’s wedding planner and her eye for design is truly unparalleled! The color palette for this Mae’s Ridge wedding was hot pink, red, blush, white, and gold, which was reflected in the wedding party’s colorful outfits and the striking floral that framed the mandap. These floral sprays by Merveile Events were works of art, as they cascaded down the sides of the wooden arch onto the white stage, where little gold thrones sat, waiting for the bride and groom. The only thing that made the mandap better was the sweeping view of Austin’s hill country in the background.

After the baraat, Gita’s mom greeted Soham as is tradition, and then he walked down the aisle to the ceremony. Gita and Soham wore Indian attire for the ceremony and they had a first look right at the mandap. Their family members held a tapestry in front of Soham and the mandap, and they only dropped it when it was time to reveal Gita in her stunning red and gold sari. The sparkle in their eyes and smiles said it all! Gita and Soham were actually one of our couples whose original wedding was affected by the pandemic, so while they had to wait a little longer than usual for their big day, getting to have a full celebration surrounded by their loved ones was absolutely worth the wait.

The ceremony was made that much sweeter by the journey this couple went on to get down the aisle, and in between each tradition, we caught them sneaking each other a quick smile or loving glance. We could tell that all their guests felt the love too since they wore smiles that were almost as joyful as the bride and groom’s!

A Mae’s Ridge Wedding: Cocktail Hour & Reception Details

Gita and Soham’s cocktail hour was held out on the lawn at Mae’s Ridge, where they brought in a pink and gold lounge furniture setup, tall cocktail tables, and a mobile champagne truck by Champagne Supply Co. The couple also sprinkled in many personal touches throughout the entire wedding’s design. A sign that said, “It’s worth the wait” greeted guests upon arrival, another sign outlining the couple’s relationship timeline was placed at the bar, and guests got to enjoy the bride and groom’s signature drinks from “Buddy’s Bar,” named after the couple’s furry friend.

Inside the Mae’s Ridge wedding reception space, there were a mix of round and rectangular tables, all dressed in white linens with gold chargers, red napkins, gold flatware, and floral arrangements in gold vases. Greenery hung from the chandeliers and the four-tier cake by Michelle’s Patisserie was a simple cream and light gold with the most beautiful of floral accents flowing down one side. But the sweetheart table was definitely the focal point! The table itself had a light pink linen and a magnificent floral arrangement sitting right in front of it. Behind the table was a hedge wall backdrop, complete with a matching floral spray along the top and a neon light sign that said, “I love you so much,” emulating Austin’s famous mural.

A Mae’s Ridge Wedding: The Party

For this Mae’s Ridge wedding reception, Gita and Soham changed into Western attire. Gita’s gown was white and flowy with little beads all over it and Soham’s tux was classic, black, and accented with a bow tie. Once they were all dolled up, we did a first look at a different ceremony site on property, right underneath a simple, golden archway. We then shot some amazing images of them and the wedding party in the hilly landscape of Mae’s Ridge.

Mr. and Mrs. Manari were then ready to take to the dance floor for their first dance! This was followed by toasts, parent dances, a speech given by the newlyweds, a delicious dinner, and the cake cutting. To compliment the cake, Gita and Soham also served their guests donuts by Little Lucy’s, which was an extra sweet treat for everyone!

At one point before the dance floor opened, we snuck away with the couple to get sunset and night portraits. Austin’s Best DJs had installed specialty marquee letter lights that spelled out “Soham & Gita,” so we definitely weren’t going to miss getting shots with that! We also shot some of the best photos of the wedding weekend that night with Mae’s Ridge’s gold, geometric backdrop illuminated by floating candles.

By far though, our favorite part of the reception was when Gita changed into her fun, second dress and everyone hit the dance floor! Her dress was a short, white number with fringe hanging off it, so that with every turn she made, the dress swished right along with her! She even threw on a custom, pearl studded jean jacket with her name on the back. Along with her cream colored Keds, we would definitely say she was party-ready!

As an Austin Indian wedding photographer, we see a lot of good parties, but Gita and Soham’s certainly had the best dance moves! Nobody was shy about having a good time, as they danced all night, even busting out ribbon wands for everyone at one point.

When it was time for the grand exit, everyone took their wands and lined the outdoor path to the couple’s classic black getaway car, supplied by Austin Classic Limo. The cold sparklers were lit and Gita and Soham left the building, framed by these shooting stars. They were still jumping and dancing as they made their way to the car and with smiles as bright as the cold sparklers, they drove off into the night in each other’s arms.

Congratulations on a fun and beautiful wedding, Gita and Soham! If you couldn’t tell in this post, we had a blast as your Austin Indian wedding photographer and videographer. It was truly an honor to walk on your journey with you and we wish you all the love and happiness in the world!

tt Tara & Kirk: A Southeast Asian Lakeway Resort Wedding

There is nothing quite like a Southeast Asian wedding. Every time we have the honor of capturing one, we are in awe of the vibrant colors, upbeat dances, and the all-encompassing love that only comes by being surrounded by a true community of family and friends. Tara and Kirk chose to have a Lakeway Resort wedding and as soon as we heard about their plans for a dusty rose, blush, and mauve wedding right on the lake, we knew we wanted to be their Austin Indian wedding photographer and videographer! We were absolutely thrilled when they decided to book with us!

Tara and Kirk are as sweet as can be and they had the brightest smiles on their faces from the start of their sangeet to the end of the wedding reception. The two-day celebration consisted of the most wondrous décor, lakeside sunsets, delicious catering, and lots of dancing! This was quite possibly the most gorgeous wedding we’ve had the pleasure of capturing, so make sure to watch the videos and read to the end to soak up every detail!

A Lakeway Resort Wedding

Tara and Kirk’s wedding weekend was held at Lakeway Resort and Spa in Lakeway, Texas, which is situated about thirty minutes from downtown Austin. It is nestled right on the edge of Lake Travis and is famous for their panoramic lake views from every corner of property. The Vistas Ballroom is their main wedding space with its floor-to-ceiling glass window walls that offer a perfect view of the water for miles.

It’s always a treat for us to work here, especially in the summer, because we get to shoot a lakeside wedding while still being indoors in the air conditioning. Our brides love it too because they get to have a lake backdrop for the ceremony, but they don’t have to worry about the wind messing up their hair, bugs pestering them, or the Texas heat melting their makeup!

As if all that weren’t enough, the Lakeway Resort wedding space has an outdoor, wrap-around terrace, where they hold cocktail hours, and the end of that terrace is THE spot on property for sunset photos. Every time we work here, we just have to build in time for sunset shots with the couple on the terrace, and they always turn out to be the bride and groom’s favorite shots of the day!

An Austin Indian Wedding Photographer’s Dream

Throughout the celebration, we could tell that every décor detail was carefully and purposefully planned out to be both functional and visually striking. The name “Tara” in Hindi translates to “star,” so Tara and Kirk incorporated a star motif in the décor for all their events. Their wedding planner, Cheryl from Glitzzy Events, did a wonderful job subtly and elegantly infusing these stars in the event design, from the sangeet backdrop and welcome signs to the wedding cake and personalized dance floor. She is also a logistics queen, as every event throughout the weekend ran on time to the minute. If you’re looking for an Indian wedding planner, we highly recommend Cheryl and her team!

Yara with Unique Design and Events blew us all away with her handiwork as well. She completely draped the ceiling of the Vistas Ballroom in white, flowy fabric and installed crystal chandeliers for touches of sparkle. Bouquets of Austin completed the design by setting tall floral arrangements along the back of the mandap and short arrangements on both sides of the aisle that would all be later repurposed for the wedding reception.

The mandap itself was truly breathtaking with its white stage, gold seats, and fabric draping in various shades of pink. We loved how the fabric was gathered to create windows, so guests could still marvel at the lake behind the mandap. This also allowed plenty of natural light to illuminate the ceremony space, which made our job as an Austin Indian wedding photographer easy!

Sangeet

Tara and Kirk’s sangeet took place the night before the wedding in Lakeway Resort’s Rio Grande Ballroom. The color scheme for this event included deep purple and peacock blue with touches of gold and silver. The guest tables were dressed in multicolored linens and adorned with floating candles in wine glasses and fun pompom and bead strands. Tara wore an exquisite turquoise and silver sari that shimmered when it caught the light, and Kirk’s sherwani was yellow gold, truly making the pair the stars of the evening.

The sangeet kicked off with dinner provided by Biryani Pot and toasts from the couple’s family. If you’re not familiar with Indian weddings, think of a sangeet like an American rehearsal dinner, except with high energy music and tons of dancing! Our favorite part of any sangeet is when the dancing commences because that is truly when the party starts, and it doesn’t end until the next night after the wedding reception!

Tara and Kirk’s family and friends absolutely killed it on the dance floor, as they took turns performing traditional dances for the couple. DJ Nish kept the music pumping, and it was clear that everyone was overjoyed to be there to celebrate the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs.

The sangeet was made that much sweeter by Amy’s Ice Cream, who brought in their signature ice cream in a mobile cart for dessert. Henna Arts also set up a mehndi table for those who wanted to get henna on their hands in preparation for the wedding the next day. Overall, the sangeet was a hit with everyone jumping on the dance floor before the night was through. Talk about a great way to start your wedding weekend!

Baraat

The next morning, the wedding day festivities started with Tara and Kirk’s first look. As an Austin Indian wedding photographer, we always feel so honored to capture these most intimate of moments and we do our best to stay scarce while still getting the best shots, so as to give the couple as private a moment as possible.

After some couples’ portraits and family formals at the mandap, it was time for the baraat! This is the groom’s processional into the ceremony, complete with celebratory music and more dancing! It’s like a party and parade all in one with the groom and his side of the family dancing their hearts out. Many times, the groom will ride in on an exotic animal or in a fancy car, but Kirk choose to jump right in the fun by walking and dancing alongside his loved ones.

They had a dhol player and mobile DJ accompany the group, as they made their way from underneath the trees at the far side of the resort to the walkway that leads up to the Vistas Ballroom. When they arrived there, Tara’s mom greeted Kirk to welcome him into the family by applying the traditional tilak (ceremonial red dot) to his forehead and performing the aarti (traditional ritual of worship) to stave off evil and bless him.

Everyone then proceeded up the outdoor terrace and into the ceremony space, enjoying a quick mango lassi drink before they sat down. It was turning out to be a warm day, so the mango lassi was a refreshing treat after dancing in the sun!

A Lakeway Resort Wedding Ceremony

Then, it was time to get married! As far as Indian wedding ceremonies go, Tara and Kirk’s was on the shorter side, just one hour, but it still incorporated all the traditions and rituals that are significant to their culture. They began by giving each other the richest red and white floral garlands and then went on to pray, recite their vows, and exchange rings. What we love most about Indian weddings though is the inclusion of the bride and groom’s families in the ceremony. Both sets of parents and the wedding party sit on the mandap with the couple in order to pray with them, bless them, and participate in various rites throughout the ceremony. It’s incredibly sweet and humbling to watch, and the love emanating from the entire community is palpable from start to finish.

Cocktail Hour

When the ceremony concluded, the guests headed outside onto the terrace for cocktail hour. Typically, a Lakeway Resort wedding in the Vistas Ballroom includes cocktail hour on the outdoor terrace and in the indoor lobby alone, but since this was actually going to be a two-hour cocktail hour, Tara and Kirk chose to also rent the Sunset room and patio. Located just a few steps from the Vistas, this was a smart choice to give guests more room to mix, mingle, and relax. It also gave the Jazz Daddies band the perfect place to play live music for everyone under the trees!

While the guests were eating, drinking, and being merry, our team captured some post-ceremony shots of the newlyweds and their families. We also started shooting what we could of the cocktail hour and reception décor. The rest of the vendor team was utilizing the two-hour cocktail hour to flip the Vistas Ballroom from ceremony to reception, which meant breaking down the mandap, reinstalling the backdrop to be behind the sweetheart table, setting up all the dinner tables, and resetting all the floral arrangements. This is why we always recommend only the best in the business for our clients because while two hours may sound like a lot of time, it can become a blur when you are moving and resetting that many elements.

A Lakeway Resort Wedding Reception

The team actually accomplished the flip of the Lakeway Resort wedding space in just an hour and a half, and we were grateful because that meant we had more time to shoot the reception décor details! The guest tables were swathed in white, sparkly linens, gold chargers, and little Ferrero Rocher chocolate favors. All the ceremony floral was repurposed to the reception tables, including the sweetheart table, and the coolest white dance floor was brought in with a gold star bearing the couple’s monogram. Last but not least, Austin Event Lighting set up two giant screens, one in each corner of the room, so that the evening’s formalities could be broadcasted for everyone to see. This reception was truly the dream of any Austin Indian wedding photographer and we had so much fun shooting every last detail!

For the reception, Tara, Kirk, and their loved ones changed into Western-style attire. Tara’s white gown was sleek with just the right amount of fluff and Kirk looked very dapper in his black tux. They hit the dance floor together to kick off the night and no two people looked happier. As the night progressed, toasts were given, the gold star cake made by Sweet Treets was cut, and dinner was served. We loved that before each table got dinner from the buffet, the guests first posed for a picture with Tara and Kirk up at the sweetheart table. This was such a great way to make sure that the couple got photos with all their friends and family!

While there had already been a lot of dancing throughout the weekend, nothing compared to the party that took place at the reception! Tara, Kirk, and all their guests really let loose and had a good time jumping, dancing, and living it up!

When the night was through, everyone lined the walkway outside for a sparker exit. Every Lakeway Resort wedding comes with a complimentary golf cart departure, and Tara and Kirk took full advantage of that by using the cart as their getaway car. They decorated it with a “Just Married” sign to give it their personal touch and when it was time, they rode off into the night with the biggest smiles on their faces.

Congrats, Tara and Kirk! We were overjoyed to have been your Austin Indian wedding photographer and videographer. We loved getting to celebrate right alongside you every step of the way, and we wish you nothing but the best in your future together!

Meryl and Adam – Malverde Wedding

Capturing weddings is such an honor. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life that signifies the start of your new journey as a couple. I know every single moment from that day is a precious one, and I truly love having the opportunity to document them all. Each couple I meet is special to me. I enjoy getting to know the bride and groom before and during the wedding and striving to capture the couple’s style and personality through the photos I take on their wedding day.

about the day

But this wedding day was extra special because the couple is very near and dear to my heart. I (Bryan) went to college with Adam, and have known Adam and Meryl for over ten years. I could not have been more excited for these two as they tied the knot, and it was truly an honor to capture their wedding day!

Meryl and Adam got married at Malverde in Downtown Austin. Malverde is an indoor/outdoor event space part of the award-winning, vibrant Mexican restaurant La Condesa. The venue is on the second story overlooking downtown with perfect views of the Austin skyline. The outside walls are almost completely comprised of windows, so natural light streams in. With cozy seating and overhanging greenery, the venue feels intimate, yet the high ceilings and windows ensure that it still feels airy and spacious. Check it out [here]! We absolutely loved this venue! Plus, it’s right in downtown Austin, which provides a great, unique backdrop that’s a little different from our average wedding day!

They exchanged vows on the outdoor terrace right before sunset, and it was beautiful! Meryl was absolutely stunning in her amazing wedding dress. The lace detailing was like nothing we’ve ever seen. She truly looked radiant. The flowers and vibrant color scheme they chose was so lively and bright. We loved the cheery feel they created through their personalized accents and décor. Everything mirrored the fun Austin, Texas vibe so well.

Needless to say, this day was amazing! I had a blast celebrating with one of my favorite couples and documenting their special day. Congratulations, Meryl and Adam!

Barr Mansion Wedding – Kara & Dorian

Kara and Dorian had a gorgeous wedding at one of our favorite venues, Barr Mansion, in Austin! The mansion itself is over 100 years old and has a ballroom featuring a large glass-walled building that was actually shipped piece by piece from New York!

about this sweet wedding venue

It’s a modern structure with rustic character and is super on-trend this season. The open feel and the gorgeous light compliment our photography style to a tee. This sweet couple had a brunch wedding, which we love and happen to be our favorite type of wedding. We love brunch weddings so much, that ours was a brunch wedding!

Because of the decor and beautiful features at Barr Mansion, it hosted teh absolute brunch style wedding. Their property features so many photo ops for our sweet couples, especially Kora + Dorian.

about this sweet couple

Kara and Dorian were some of the kindest people we have ever worked with. Their love for each other and their friends and family was so genuine. Some of our favorite images are the first dance pictures. You could tell they were having a so much fun as newlyweds. The way that they looked at one another throughout the day was breathtaking and so palpable. Those are the memories we want to deliver – real and raw.

Those big moments were full of big smiles and lots of laughs. It was so special to capture their Austin wedding. We love documenting love, so if you want us to do the same for you, please do get in touch!

We are so lucky that Kara and Dorian chose us as their Barr Mansion wedding photographers! Thank you both for including us in your wedding day. We had so much fun photographing your special moments.

Canyonwood Ridge Wedding Photography | Caitlin & Troy

Texas may not have four distinct seasons—mostly just summer and cold-ish—but that doesn’t limit its beauty. We are so in love with the Texas hill country that we couldn’t leave and decided put down roots. The rolling hills, rocky cliffs, wide-open sky, and unique vegetation make it a sight to behold. And in the wintertime, you can still count on quite a few mild, sunny days.

About this couple

Caitlin and Troy planned a winter wedding, and Texas did its part in giving them perfect weather, bright sunshine, and the most incredible view. They chose one of our absolute favorite photography locations: The Chapel at Canyonwood Ridge. The sought-after wedding venue completely epitomizes its name—the chapel sits up high on a ridge surrounded by breathtaking shade trees, overlooking the rocky terrain. The chapel is lined with windows all around plus floor-to-ceiling windows at the altar, which lets in plenty of natural light. You don’t even feel like you’re inside, and it can seat up to 300 guests. They even offer a beautifully design reception hall as well as areas for the bridal party to get ready. Can you tell we love this venue?!

The couple’s first look inside the chapel was so sweet and special as they shared an intimate moment before the rest of the big day began. We’re a huge fan of first looks because they are the perfect opportunity for a few romantic shots, and they give couples a chance to relax and calm their nerves.

When it was time for the ceremony, their son stood at the altar, and he stayed by their side until their first kiss, making for some really special photos. Afterward, they were ready to celebrate! Until the bride and groom arrived, people chatted and relaxed outside under the trees. We love the new lawn game trend—and so do guests! After Caitlin and Troy made the big debut into the hall, lots of dancing, eating, laughing, and toasting ensued. We thought their exit at the end with “snow” being tossed into the air was the perfect send off for a winter wedding. Congrats, you two!

Austin Indian Wedding Photography | Anysha & Sunil

Ironically, one of our favorite parts about photography is seeing through our clients’ lenses. When we capture moments for other people, we’re introduced to new ideas, new personalities, and new cultures. Our job is never boring, and it’s so much fun to photograph what makes this world so truly beautiful. The uniqueness of each person and each family adds a new dimension and depth to our world, and we love sharing those photos with others, encouraging them to embrace the things that make us who we are.

Needless to say, we were so excited when Anysha and Sunil reached out to us about photographing their multi-part wedding and accompanying ceremonies. We absolutely LOVE Indian weddings! They offer so much energy, colorful attire, and rich traditions.

About this couple and their big day

Anysha and Sunil were a dream to work with. Before their wedding week, we hit it off at their engagement session, where I connected with Sunil’s love of fantasy sports and Anysha’s love of Beyoncé (yes me, Bryan—who doesn’t love jam out with Bey when choosing fantasy picks?) The Sangeet (night of music, singing, and dancing) was an absolute blast with so many different group dances with family and friends. It was so impressive! And I loved watching the little ones dance right along with the best of them. The kids were so cute. Like most kids, they had fun showing off for the camera.

Then, Sunil had an “egging,” where his groomsmen covered him in eggs and other foods. It was hilarious—he even wore a scuba mask to protect his face! The next day was the Milk Ceremony followed by the traditional Nikkah—the official wedding ceremony. For the finale, they concluded with a beautiful reception at Ma Maison in Dripping Springs. They danced the night away and exited on a helicopter! What an epic wedding week!

We had an incredible time, and it was truly an honor to capture this special wedding celebration. Congrats, Anysha and Sunil. We wish you the very best!

Ma Maison Wedding | Katie & Michael

Katie and Michael are two total sweethearts and we loved getting to photograph their Ma Maison wedding. When they contacted us to photograph their big day, their easy going and fun spirited character showed immediately. It is always refreshing to meet a couple that has such beautiful personalities. Not to mention, they are stunning on camera!!

Katie and Michael’s Ma Maison Wedding

One thing that was so sweet was their love story! When they began dating, they were long distance. However, just three months later Michael took a leap of faith, quit his job, moved to DC and invited Katie to come along! She quickly said yes! The saying goes that “when you know, you know” and that is absolutely true for these two! Not one day went by where they second-guessed each other. What an amazing relationship they share.

Before the ceremony, we had the pleasure of seeing Katie and Michael get ready for their big moment together. Katie’s bridal party all wore matching robes, which was so gorgeous on all of them. Michael and the guys enjoyed a game of corn-hole, and I love that they were able to relax and have fun before the ceremony. The couple did a first look, and wow, was it a beautiful and intimate experience!

A Stunning Support System

The ceremony was put together so well, as Katie and Michael had such a wonderful support system that helped set everything up. I loved the awning that the couple stood under as they said their vows. Such a stunning venue! I loved everything about their wedding, and don’t think it could’ve gone any better!

They had so many sweet moments with each other throughout their wedding day and it is clear they have amazing friends and family there to support them. Terrace Club Dripping Springs Wedding | Vanessa & Luis

Vanessa and Luis are the sweetest couple! Working with these two was such a blessing. Never have I met anyone as sincere and kind-hearted as them. We were fortunate enough to be their photographer for all milestones of this new adventure, including their the engagements, bridals, wedding and reception. Every minute spent with Vanessa and Luis was filled with such wonderful and fun memories!

Cheers to the Happy Couple

The newlyweds met at Texas A&M and instantly knew there was something special about each other. I loved their engagement photos, because they sported their maroon and gold colors! Vanessa looked stunning in a sparkly gold skirt, and Luis wore a maroon shirt that matched. They did a few wardrobe changes, and I was obsessed with every outfit Vanessa chose. She has such beautiful taste in clothing. Luis looked handsome as can be, and I loved how he looked at his lady. These two have such adoration for each other. It was precious!

We love getting to capture these memories at the Terrace Club in Dripping Springs, they have an amazing sunset view! Vanessa and Luis’ wedding was beautiful, charming, and filled with love. Not only did they make an effort to decorate and dress to perfection, but their shared emotions made the day so special. They each wrote a letter to each other, and read it alone. It was such an intimate part of their wedding day, and both of them were in tears after reading. They also did a first look, which is one of my favorite moments to photograph. It is such a beautiful moment that helps relieve the nerves before walking down the aisle.

Beautiful Memories. Timeless Moments.

I have to say though, my all-time favorite part of the wedding was when Vanessa and Luis read their vows at the altar. Their words were put together in such an amazing way, and it was obvious that these two hearts were made to love each other. Their love is undeniable. After the ceremony, the reception followed, and what a fun time it was! Their guests had a blast dancing and celebrating the newlyweds. I am so happy for Vanessa and Luis. Congratulations to this amazing couple!

The Driskill Wedding | Ashley & Matt

Ashley and Matt love everything timeless and classic, which can clearly be seen by their wedding at The Driskill.  All of the choices a bride and groom must make for their wedding day were made by these two with an effort to maintain that timeless feel.  The cathedral they were married in was magnificent, inside and out; a direct reflection of this couple.  They had a beautifully traditional, Catholic ceremony, filled to the brim with stunning details. Although the bridesmaids were given the freedom to choose the cut of their dress, they all donned classic black which was matched perfectly by the groomsmen, who donned traditional tuxedos and black bow ties. What a great looking group!

A Stunning Bride. A Stunning Day.

Ashley was a stunning bride!  Her lace gown and cathedral train trimmed in lace were pure perfection.  It was a family affair helping her to get ready, as he broke the typical “getting ready mold” of Mom helping the bride by inviting Dad in to join his two lovely ladies.  It was such a sweet moment seeing him place his daughter’s veil.  Seeing how close she is with her father made it that much more meaningful when he gave her away to Matt.

The couple was surrounded by supportive family and friends who were thrilled to celebrate their union.  After the conclusion of the ceremony everyone headed to the Driskill Hotel.  This venue is awe inspiring.  It feels like going back in time, a perfect combination of class and history. Our favorite spot was the foyer, which always makes for an amazing space to capture images.  The traditional father-daughter, and mother-son dances tugged at our heartstrings, and everyone was more than happy to join the fun on the dance floor.

Classic Elegance

The live band kept everybody moving and grooving throughout the night.  Sticking to their style, their cake was classic.  It even had the adorable bride and groom cake topper in their likeness.  These two have great taste in design and decor as well as in choosing their life partner.  They are a perfect match and their big day was a beautiful way to kick off forever together.

The Winfield Inn Wedding | Ashley & Eric

Being a wedding photographer and videographer, I get to hear all kinds of love stories. From high school sweethearts, to blind dates, to gym meetings, every story and couple is unique. It’s always interesting to hear the tale from each person’s perspective. Especially years down the line when memories fade and details become foggy. Capturing the memories of this The Winfield Inn Wedding for Ashley and Eric was nothing short of magic!

An Unsuspecting Love Story

Ashley and Eric tied the knot this February, after meeting on a seemingly normal night out in Houston six years ago. Eric happened to be wearing a flannel shirt that caught Ashley’s eye. Funny enough, it became a topic of conversation amongst her friends. Ashley’s friend knew she wanted to talk to him, and decided to initiate the conversation by pushing her into an unsuspecting Eric. They hit it off, and the rest is history! Kind of…

Neither of them had any interest in getting married. They were so against it, in fact, they set a break-up date. Obviously they didn’t abide by that date, nor their vow to never get married, and we’ve never been so happy to see someone’s vows not come to fruition. Seriously, Ashley and Eric are two really awesome people, and we were totally thrilled to see them get married. They had a gorgeous ceremony and reception at Winfield Inn surrounded by all their loved ones and everyone had a blast. Now, somebody needs to frame that flannel, as an ode to all the things we said we would never do, but end up happy we stepped out of our comfort zone and did them anyways. Cheers to the newlyweds!

Katlyn and Dylan | Villa Del Lago Wedding

There are so many different options when it comes to wedding decor. From regal and elegant to rustic and DIY, you can find just about anything to fit your vision and theme. Whatever you decide though, seeing it all come together on that big day is priceless. Being able to document and cherish that process is one few people are lucky enough to experience. Katlyn and Dylan here are among the lucky few, blogging their entire wedding planning process. You can read more about that process on her amazing blog here!

Katlyn and Dylan’s Gorgeous Villa Del Lago Wedding

Katlyn and Dylan got married at Villa Del Lago on Lake Travis. Their wedding was so beautiful and timeless. Katlyn looked absolutely stunning in a lace mermaid gown, while her wedding party wowed in every shade of gold. She is a style and beauty expert, so she definitely has an eye for fashion and what looks aesthetically pleasing. From the white rose bouquets, to the gold photo frames, to the perfectly manicured tables… this event was the definition of elegance.

Katlyn and Dylan started their courtship on twitter, and met up hundreds of miles from their respective homes and she says she knew the day they met that she would marry Dylan. What a great story these two have! It was a beautiful event for an even more beautiful couple, and I have a feeling they will have so many more amazing stories to tell in their future as husband and wife.

Union on Eighth Wedding Photography | Ryan and Lindsay

We were especially honored to be chosen to capture this Union on Eighth Wedding Photography. As Ryan and Lindsay are amazing photographers themselves, it was quite a compliment!

This facility is the perfect combination of rugged and romantic.  Wooden beams, gorgeous farmhouse style tables, a rusted patina wall, a courtyard surrounded with ivy covered brick – I am not sure we could choose a more perfect spot for this wedding to have taken place.  And did I mention the vintage Airstream? It is located right in the historic Georgetown square, who could ask for a better location?

Ryan and Lindsay’s Gorgeous Day

We love all of their personal touches, like including their Australian Shepherd in every part of their day (he even earned a spot on the Groom’s cake!), and placing an apple sticker on Lindsay’s bouquet (because to put it lightly, Ryan is obsessed with apples)!

Getting ready with these two was so much fun!  Lindsey’s ribbon laced rose-gold glitter sneakers and her bridal party who was anxious to get to the pizza! Ryan’s friends each sported their own unique socks under their formal wear and had an absolute blast getting ready together.

It was such a tender moment when they brought Lindsey’s father in to see his daughter before her wedding.  I got a little choked up myself! Nothing could prepare us for the first look between Ryan and Lindsey in the garden, though. It was a beautiful moment beyond compare. You could literally feel the emotion and excitement fill the courtyard. She took his (and our) breath away!

Their Intimate Vows

Also, they wanted to share personal vows for one another, but were a little nervous to do so in front of 150 people. Who could blame them? They shared their vows, and a few tears, with only their bridal party and immediate family. What a beautiful moment we were blessed to capture.  It was amazing, and we highly recommend doing this for anyone who wants their vows to be intimate and special, but also not cry their eyes out in front of tons of people! We adored this moment!!

The reception was an absolutely wonderful time, with endless laughter and dancing under the twinkling lights.  The fun was followed by some quiet, more intimate moments between Ryan and Lindsey as we reflected upon the day behind them, the moments between them, and the life ahead of them (while taking some super fun night portraits)!

Their highlight film is a MUST WATCH! Watch the full thing below!

Camp Lucy Ian’s Chapel Wedding | Kristin and Craig

It takes a village to pull off the perfect wedding. Picking the right venue, hiring the best vendors, and working out all the little details so everything goes as planned. It’s so nice to have your own little village along the way to support and celebrate your big day.

Kristin and Craig’s Dripping Spring’s Wedding

Kristin and Craig got married at Ian’s Chapel at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs right outside of Austin. Their village included a great network of friends and family, along with their adorable dog Buddy. As dog lovers, we really love seeing their fur baby incorporated in their big day. You can tell they truly adore him and wanted him to be included in all the festivities. He walked down the aisle with the flower girl, and took part in some group shots after the ceremony. He even joined in on the dance floor at the reception afterwards!. How cute!?He was a great sport and so well behaved.

The beautiful Texas hill country made the perfect backdrop for Kristin and Craig’s heartfelt ceremony. Camp Lucy has some great architecture and gorgeous views that we took full advantage of. The reception was equally beautiful with simple and elegant decor. These newlyweds and their friends sure know how to have a great time and really lit up the dance floor. We had so much fun soaking up the vibrant energy as we captured these memories. It was a fantastic time, and everyone involved played a part in making the day absolutely perfect. Kristin and Craig have a wonderful village surrounding them, and I know these sweethearts have a bright future ahead as husband and wife.

Kellie and Jacob | Vista West Ranch Wedding

Kellie and Jacob are two sweet, adventurous souls! They met at Texas A&M,  and these Aggies have since traveled the world together. When they’re together, they’re up for anything. We first met them during their engagement session, and they were such a delight together and so playful.  The wide open field with the rustic barn, the charming wooden swing, and beautiful glow of sunlight was just a preview for the warm southern personality of their wedding day! A few months later, we were so excited for their Vista West Ranch wedding!

Kellie and Jacob’s Big Day

Kellie and her family and friends were able to spend the morning together. They got ready in the bridal suite of the Vista West Ranch in the scenic Texas Hill Country.  She looked like she could have been featured in a magazine as her off-the-shoulder mermaid style gown with sparkling silver applique accents.  The friendship of her bridal party, their sheer expression of love, and their prayer over her blessing her wedding day was a true testament to Kellie’s own warmth.  And I was thrilled to be there to capture such emotion, and even a tear from the bride as she read a heartfelt note from Jacob as she prepared to meet him at the ceremony.

The juxtaposition of the elegance of the wedding party in the soft, light colors and the delicate flowers by Petal Pushers against weathered wood and rusted tin of the venue was absolutely perfect!  And just look at the smiles as the couple exchanged their vows!  So happy!

The reception was gorgeous with family style seating at long barnwood tables allowed for plenty of time for mingling. And ladder-ball!  And as the sun continued to set, the willow sphere lighting stole the show looking like little sparklers indoors! The fun of the evening did not stop as they danced, posed with photo props, laughed, and served donuts!!

We adore Kellie’s love of all things Disney and both of their great big hearts!

Ian Chapel Wedding Photographer | Allie and Jeremy

Growing up, many women will tell you they’ve dreamt and fantasized of their wedding from the time they were a little girl. The beautiful gown, the whimsical decor, and the overall feeling of a fairy tale can certainly peek the curiosity of a child who spends hours a day brushing her hair, singing Disney songs, and twirling around the house in dresses fit for a princess. Only later do they realize the true fairy tale comes not from the beautiful decor, but the years of meaningful commitment ahead.

Allie and Jeremy’s Ian Chapel Wedding

Allie and Jeremy recently had their fairy tale wedding at Ian’s Chapel at Camp Lucy, and as you can see…it was stunning, She had dreamt about her wedding for years, and was excited to finally plan with Jeremy a ceremony befitting both of them. They dated long distance for three years, and after realizing the integral part in their relationship their friends and family played to support them, they decided on a truly intimate wedding. It was their wish that those who had been a part of their relationship for the past five years be by their side. They wanted to share with them the celebration of one of the most important days in their life…Becoming husband and wife.

The spot Allie and Jeremy chose at Camp Lucy was perfect for the romantic and intimate ceremony they had envisioned. The guests were able to spend their weekend in cabins on the beautiful property while bonding over drinks, s’mores, and stories by the fire pit. There was romance in every detail. From the sparkling chandeliers hanging above the impeccably decorated farm tables, to the sweet flower petals lining the aisle. But the most romantic details of all were the personal and sentimental ones passed down to Allie from her grandmother.

Intimate Details

Allie’s grandparents were married for over 60 years. Clearly knowing the true meaning of a lifetime commitment. Jeremy had Allie’s engagement ring made from her grandmother’s diamonds, which is so sentimental and precious to her. Around her bouquet was her grandmother’s locket with a WWII picture of her grandfather tucked inside. She also had a pearl covered bible in hand that her grandmother gifted to Allie and her sister to carry with them on their wedding day.

Every detail of Allie and Jeremy’s wedding was extraordinarily beautiful. The cake, the flowers, and the dress were straight out of a young girl’s day dreams of a wedding fit for a princess. But as Jeremy and Allie soaked the day in, they looked around at all their family and friends laughing and celebrating their love. It was then that they inevitably knew the fairy tale was not in the material details. Just as Allie’s grandparents proved with their more than sixty year commitment. Jeremy and Allie are most looking forward to the fairy tale journey of their love and commitment to one another.

Laura and Dustin | Barr Mansion Wedding

This wedding was beautiful from start to finish.  Our favorite time of day to shoot weddings is during the late afternoon so we can capture some amazing shots of the couple in the golden light of the sunset, and then dance the night away!  Laura and Dustin’s wedding was a perfect example of the ideal timeline from the first hello, to the last wave goodbye.

Laura and Dustin’s Barr Mansion Wedding

These two free-spirited souls bring such fun and joy wherever they go. We were honored to have been chosen as their Austin area wedding photographers!

The backdrop for this special day was the Barr Mansion and Artisan Ballroom in Austin, Texas. One gorgeous venue, to say the least. Aislinn at Barr Mansion coordinated the day to perfection with Sixpence Floral providing the stunning, colorful blooms! Laura and her bridal party and family were able to dress and primp in the classically restored Victorian Farmhouse.  Even her little terrier, Rufus, was able to take part in the preparations!  I loved the expression on her mother’s face seeing her daughter as a bride on her wedding day. Even moreso, we were able to capture this photo for the couple!

A Stunning Setting for a Stunning Bride

Laura was absolutely stunning as she entered the site for the ceremony surrounded by lush ornamental gardens.  The reception took place in the Ballroom with antique barn-wood tables and lots of candlelit tables for all of Laura and Dustin’s friends and family to celebrate together at.  The afternoon sun danced through the trees creating beautiful highlights and shadows around the venue. Our portraits of the newly married couple in the open fields in the warmth of the sun are some of my absolute favorites!  Make sure to scroll down to see all the beauty and celebration of Laura and Dustin’s love!

Sarah and Luke are two newlyweds that we had an absolute blast with! These two are the absolute sweetest, most laid-back couple ever! They are the type of folks that make you feel so comfortable, like you’ve known them forever. Not only were Sarah and Luke so much fun to work with, but their wedding was to die for!

Sarah and Luke’s Prospect House Wedding

Sarah wore a crochet dress that she found in Brooklyn, and let me tell you, it was stunning! Covered in intricate little details, the dress was perfect for Sarah. Not to mention, Erica Gray killed it with her beautiful hair and makeup artistry! The bride, along with her bridesmaids, looked amazing to say the least.

One of our favorite parts of this wedding was the venue. Sarah and Luke chose to get married at Prospect House in Dripping Springs. Their venue was incredible with a clean, bright, modern minimalist style. The flowers on the wall were definitely unique, and absolutely beautiful. Petal Pushers created the incredible florals with a wall of bud vases for their ceremony and hung beautiful greenery on the chandelier in the reception hall. There is not another venue that is anything like it in the hill country!

Love is Fun

All in all, Sarah and Luke’s wedding was a day that we will all remember. This couple looked so amazing together! We really enjoyed working with Heather at Vintage and Lace coordination. Heather is a superb wedding planner that makes everything run without a hitch, allowing for everyone to relax. When things are running smoothly in the background, we (and all the other vendors) are able to focus on doing our best work without any distractions or delays. So, an awesome, confident coordinator like Heather is definitely a wedding must have! We also (thoroughly) enjoyed Sugar Mama’s bakeshop, who created amazing baked artistry, and Royal Fig, who catered all the tasty food for the wedding.

Their wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. Congratulations to Sarah and Luke. You two surely have an amazing journey ahead of you!

Pecan Springs Ranch Wedding Photography | Michelle & Preston

Pecan Springs Ranch Wedding Photography | Michelle & Preston

For many people, their wedding day is one of, if not the, most precious days of their life. It signifies the beginning of a new chapter, a fresh start, and a whole different journey from where life once was. It’s the official time stamp of joining and uniting with another person for life, and going forward as one. It’s certainly a big moment!

Many brides find wedding planning, and even the day of, stressful and nerve racking. If Michelle ever did, she definitely didn’t show it! Maybe it was the help of their coordinator from Pure Love Style, Paige. Or maybe she’s just mastered the forever elusive art of delegation. Either way, the day ran like clockwork!

Michelle and Preston were the true embodiment of love, adventure, and fun. From the moment the day began, until they bid farewell at the end of the evening, there was laughter and smiles galore.

Pecan Springs Ranch

Pecan Springs Ranch was the perfect venue for their spring wedding, and every detail was truly exquisite. They did a “first look” which was incredibly sweet, and made for a great photo opportunity before the ceremony. This wedding was extra special to us because not only did we get to do Michelle’s engagement session prior, we also photographed Michelle’s sister Tracey’s wedding last year, and will be photographing her other sister Kristin’s wedding this fall! We simply adore this family, and love that they know how to have a good time! We can’t wait to see them all again in October!

Vista West Ranch Wedding Photographer | Bailey & Wade

Vista West Ranch Wedding Photographer | Bailey & Wade

Beautiful spring weather, subtle and simple colors, a stunning bride, gorgeous rustic venue, and every detail fine tuned to perfection. What more could you ask for on your wedding date? Bailey and Wade had it all, and more.

Vista West Ranch was the perfect venue for their country chic event. Nestled right in the heart of Austin, TX hill country, the rich spring foliage beautifully complemented the color palette of the wedding party. Not a detail was missed. From the personalized leaf place settings, to the signage and floral arrangements throughout, to the exquisite cake. It was truly a sight!

Sweet Details

On top of all the little details, we adored this sweet couple! It was heartwarming watching them read the lovely notes written for one another before the ceremony. The bride perched atop a terrace just above the groom, so we were able to witness their reactions as if on a split screen. It’s hard to pick a favorite moment, but I think one of ours was when Bailey walked down the aisle to join her groom. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Be sure to check out the video for a glimpse into this sweet moment, along with other special moments from their big day. It was truly an honor to capture this beautiful couple on their wedding day. To witness their love for one another through their thoughtful, handwritten vows and see the light in their eyes when they looked at each other was just the icing on the cake to an already perfect day.

Springdale Farm Wedding Photographer | Matt & Kate

Springdale Farm Wedding Photographer | Matt & Kate

I had such an amazing time capturing Matt’s and Kate’s ridiculously fun Springdale Farm wedding this past fall. It was definitely a challenge not to find yourself in a fit of laughter when you’re around Matt and Kate. They say, “You are the company you keep.” If this is true, then Matt and Kate are in for a lifetime full of happiness and love.
I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard and smiled so much at a wedding before, even as a guest! We were all shedding tears of laughter during their gorgeous, outdoor ceremony, performed by the Dude (one of their hilarious uncles)! Matt’s and Kate’s love and positivity towards one another was so incredibly infectious throughout the entire night. The palpable love flowing between them was so strong, it filled the air and was felt by all.

Cheers to the Love Birds

Their reception was outside as well, and it was just as incredible and beautiful as their ceremony. It had a familiar, rustic feel, which I loved, and allowed for everyone to feel welcome and relaxed. The lighting, trees, and décor cultivated such a comfortable yet romantic atmosphere, and everyone was absolutely wonderful and kind. The entire wedding was just so beautiful and organic; it was certainly a magical and unforgettable night.
Everything ran s incredibly smoothly with help from Stephanie at Frills Consulting. If there’s one thing I would suggest splurging on for your wedding day, aside from your photography of course, it would have to be a great day-of coordinator like Stephanie. What a difference a bit of organized help makes!
Matt and Kate are so beautifully in love. Photographing their special day was such an amazing experience. I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness as they begin their adventure of life together as husband and wife, and I can’t wait to see where this road takes them!

Camp Lucy

Erin and Chad’s wedding at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs was beyond gorgeous! They were married the first Friday of June on a bright and sunny day. It couldn’t have been more beautiful! These two have dated long distance and we are so thrilled that they are finally husband and wife and get to be together forever!

The fabulous Lindsay with In Her Shoes Coordination kept things on time and fun! Gorgeous floral design by Sweet Magnolia Floral and cake by Sweet Treats Bakery. Beautiful vintage rentals by Bee Lavish and the AMAZING Whim catered with their always incredible food! Byrne Rock DJ kept the party moving – and everyone had a fantastic time! Vineyards at Chappel Lodge Wedding | Tracey & Max

Tracey and Max’s Vineyards at Chappel Lodge Wedding in Austin was perfection! Tracey is from New Braunfels and Max is from northern California, so this venue was the perfect mix of their two upbringings! It is the perfect mix of the Texas hill country and NorCAl. After meeting at UT, these two fell head over heels in love with each other, the outdoors, and of course, their adorable pup! This wedding was such a blast. Barr Mansion Wedding | Laura & Todd

There is a big to-do list when it comes to planning a wedding. Setting the date, picking a venue, narrowing down a guest list, choosing a color scheme, and finding the perfect dress are just a small part of the process. It’s no wonder some couples breathe a huge sigh of relief when the big day finally comes. As photographers, we get the pleasure of capturing the final product, and documenting the beautiful end result of all that hard work!

Laura and Todd’s Barr Mansion Wedding

Most recently we got to photograph the beautiful wedding of Laura and Todd. They chose Barr Mansion as their venue, which specializes in farm to table meals. They chose to have dinner in the garden, which was unique and so gorgeous. Laura and Todd had a traditional Jewish ceremony that was incredibly sentimental and sweet. After the ceremony, they shared a nice, private moment at sunset to exchange personal, handwritten vows away from the gaze of their many guests.

It was so thoughtful and endearing, and surely a moment they will forever treasure. During cocktail hour, the band played from the ornate, Victorian balcony of Barr Mansion. It was a lovely touch added to all the other perfect details of the night. We loved documenting this special day for Laura and Todd, and I know they have many more beautiful days ahead in their future.

Hollis and Skip’s wedding at Ma Maison in Dripping Springs was jaw-droopingly gorgeous! This pair is stunning, both inside and out, and we felt the warm, loving vibes all day long. You could really feel all the thoughtful little touches – from the white lanterns Hollis collected for the ceremony space all the way to the big pretzels for a little going-away snack!

Canyonwood Ridge | Chelsea & Bryan

Chelsea and Bryan’s wedding at Canyonwood Ridge in Dripping Springs was so gorgeous! We loved the lush, light florals by Stems and all of their fun, beautiful touches! They held their ceremony in Canyonwood Ridge’s chapel, so we revisited it later that night for some romantic candle-lit portraits. I love taking night photos, because it gives us a different perspective on the spot they said their vows, and gives the bride and groom a few minutes away from the party to chat alone!

Check out their awesome highlight film first, and then some of our favorite photos from their big day!

These two had the most incredible Retreat at Balcones Springs wedding! Their friends and family traveled from all over out to Marble Falls, TX for a weekend of fun, games, and of course, a WEDDING! We couldn’t have imagined a more laid back, perfect celebration of love. Incredible floral design by Petals Ink and AMAZING food by The Retreat were just the icing on the cake!

This was also the first wedding where Bryan got to fly his new drone! He may be a little obsessed, haha But check out the video because we think it’s one of our favorite wedding films ever!

Barr Mansion | April & DJ

April and DJ’s wedding at Barr Mansion this September was absolutely incredible! April has incredible taste and we love how she styled everything. All the unique little details at the reception were to die for! Barr Mansion is a gorgeous wedding venue with an art deco style that is unmatched in the Austin area. This whimsy factor at this location is out of control! Love the work by Stems Floral, the lighting by Intelligent Lighting Design, the awesome rentals from Bee Lavish! We absolutely loved working with these two!

Vista West Ranch Wedding | Jordan & Chase

Vista West Ranch Wedding

I am so excited to share this Vista West Ranch wedding today!  Jordan and Chase were married on one absolutely beautiful day in May.  We love Vista West Ranch in Dripping Springs, and it was the perfect venue for this great, laid back couple!  We loved getting to know this awesome couple, and their two big sweetheart pups.  Chase loves football, Jordan is starting to love it, too, and they Both clearly love the people in their lives, and being with their family and friends.

We actually remember Jordan from Daley’s wedding a couple of years ago – she made a cameo in their video – one of our favorite highlight films!  🙂  There is nothing sweeter than being a part of a chain of celebrations from the same group and getting to watch everyone’s lives develop!  It is definitely one of my favorite parts of this career.

Their gorgeous florals were by Petal Pushers, the awesome cake by Sweet Treats Bakery and Kim of Coordinate This kept things running beautifully all day!

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the big day & their highlight film!

UT Golf Club | Lindsey & Matt!

UT Golf Club

I am so happy to share a bit of Lindsey and Matt’s UT Golf Club wedding today!  These guys truly have the best outlook on life.  The weather in Austin this year has been abnormally rainy and unpredictable, and their wedding day was no different!  First, it was cloudy, then it was bright and sunny, and then halfway through the reception a crazy hail storm blew up out of nowhere!  Though the reception was moved inside, this did not deter these two from having a blast.  They laughed it off and danced the night away!  We love that attitude!!  That’s what we love about weddings – however much you plan and imagine, the day will never go exactly how you plan it.  No matter what, though, it is always a perfect day – because you just married the love of your life!  If you can keep that outlook on your wedding day, you can pretty much make it through anything together.  We loved getting to see how these two love and support each other – along with their wonderful family and friends!

I’m posting a few of my favorite photos below.  Check back soon for their sure-to-be-incredible highlight film!

Pecan Springs Ranch | Krissy and Drew

Pecan Springs Ranch

Krissy and Drew’s April Pecan Springs Ranch wedding in Austin was so gorgeous!  You may remember Krissy from her bright and cheerful South Congress bridal portraits.  These two are the sweetest!  They met in Chicago and moved to Austin together after only 8 months of knowing one another.  It was a leap of faith, but one that definitely paid off!  So many family and friends traveled in to Austin from across the country to celebrate their love and the beginning of their new life together.

Their Austin wedding venue was the amazing Pecan Spring Ranch!  Fabulous wedding coordination by Heather at Vintage & Lace and perfect floral design by Petals Ink.Pink Avocado catered with some tasty food and People’s Choice played all night!  Check out the awesome groom’s cake by Sweet Treats Bakery!

Salt Lick Pecan Grove | Laura and Nathan

Salt Lick Pecan Grove

Laura and Nathan’s Salt Lick Pecan Grove wedding was so beautiful!  We had such a good time meeting all of their warm and inviting family and friends.  It was a chilly day, and with flawless coordination by Heather of Vintage and Lace everyone stayed warm and cozy in the tent and with some fires, before heading inside to dance the night away to the tunes of the Moreland-Young band!  We absolutely loved the bright and colorful colors they chose, with incredible floral design by Petal Pushers!  We could not get enough of how pretty the room was, with all the gorgeous flowers and the twinkle lights.  What a wonderful evening for a fabulous couple!

Winfield Inn | Laurel & Josh

Winfield Inn

Laurel & Josh were married at the Winfield Inn in Kyle, Texas.  You may remember Laurel from her bridal portraits!  They planned an amazing day full of so many special touches.  Their vintage travel themed decor was mostly collected by Laurel and her wonderful mother.  We love the plum and berry color palette, the fun games during the cocktail hour, and so much more.  Did we mention they brought their sweet pup Oattie?  Or that a bear showed up and they had to fight it off during their first dance?  Things got crazy, and we are so happy we were there to capture it all for them.  I could’ve posted hundreds of photos that I loved from this day,  but check out a few of my favorites below.

The Winfield Inn in Kyle, Texas was the perfect spot for their destination wedding and they also catered with some amazing food.  Also, Meg & Laura of the Winfield made everything run seamlessly!
